HopeCC Reopening & Expectations UPDATE 6/7/2020

Updated for Sunday, June 7th, 2020

(changes have been highlighted)

Thank you in advance for your efforts in helping to keep everyone safe!

Current and ongoing practices taken by HopeCC

Steps we have taken and will take going forward include:

  1. Thoroughly disinfecting all public areas where people assemble within the church building. This includes all hard surfaces, countertops, doors and door handles, windows, and bathroom facilities. This will occur after every gathering until further notice.
  2. Providing hand sanitizer stations throughout the building.
  3. Providing masks for those who attend and don't have one.
  4. Displaying throughout our building important information about COVID-19, including symptoms and steps to prevent the spread of this or other germs.

Expectations for all who attend services at HopeCC

To further reduce the potential spread of this or any other virus like it, we are asking everyone to take the following steps when attending services:

1. Face covering. (Suggested, not required.)

As per CDC guidelines, we are suggesting that people wear a face covering, but we are not requiring that they do. If you need one we will provide one to you. We realize you may have a strongly held opinion on the matter. We simply ask everyone to make an informed decision as to whether they should attend or take in the service electronically. If you choose not to come, we are recording each service, and seek to have both audio and video options available on our website, by end of business day each Monday. Our goal is to provide a post or tweet when they become available. Also, we are looking to provide a live stream option very soon.

2. Parents bringing minors. (Kids' church offered beginning Sunday, June 7th.)

At this time, we will begin offering kids' church for incoming K-5th grade students. Our check in and kids' church staff will be wearing face coverings. Kids may wear them, but it is at the parent's discretion. Parents will be asked to complete a short health-related questionnaire during the check in process, as an extra safeguard. Kids' church is optional. Parents, please keep your children with you at all times, unless/until they are in kids' church. We hope to begin providing nursery care in the near future.

3. Social distancing

4. People who are sick.

Out of caution and as an act of love toward others, anyone exhibiting flu-like symptoms should stay home. Self-isolate and get tested if you don't feel better soon. Anyone exhibiting flu-like systems will be asked to leave.

5. General guidelines while at Hope.

  • If you have to sneeze or cough, please do so into your arm sleeve. If you blow your nose, discard the tissue in a garbage container and wash your hands with soap and water.
  • Avoid touching your mouth, face or eyes. If you find yourself doing so, please use hand sanitizer or wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
  • Avoid touching surfaces or door handles. Our volunteer staff will be present to open doors for you. When possible, take a "hands free" approach to opening doors.
  • If you bring in a beverage, please keep it with you at all times and deposit disposable containers in the garbage when empty.
  • If you visit a restroom for any reason, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before exiting.

6. Sanctuary seating.

  • While families are encouraged to sit together, all others are asked to follow the social distancing guidelines of being 6 feet from others when choosing where to sit.
  • If someone else's seat choice makes you uncomfortable, please feel free to move. We will be roping off half of our current seats to assist in this process.
  • We will be dismissing people by row from back to front. Exiting promptly will help us maintain expected social distancing protocols.

7. Giving of tithes and offerings.

To eliminate contact with others, please use an offering envelope and place it in the secure offering slot in the main foyer. (located to the left of the coffee bar counter)

Thank you in advance for your efforts in helping to keep everyone safe!

See you on Sunday!
