"Come As You Are"

By Crowder—a song that I believe expresses the spirit of the call from a future Jesus and the church, closing the Book of Revelation, to every human being at every moment of human history to "Come!" to Jesus in saving faith.

Recorded to accompany the Hope At Home sermon video for Sunday, May 10th, 2020.

So lay down your hurt, lay down your heart; Come as you are.

Revelation 22:12-17 NKJV "And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last." 14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. 16 "I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star." 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.

Verse 1:

Come out of sadness from wherever you've been,
Come, broken hearted; let rescue begin.

Come find your mercy; O sinner, come kneel;
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't heal.
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't heal.

Chorus 1:

Lay down your burdens, lay down your shame.
All who are broken, lift up your face.

O wanderer, come home; you're not too far
So lay down your hurt, lay down your heart;

Come as you are.

Verse 2:

There's hope for the hopeless and all those who've strayed;
Come sit at the table, come taste the grace.

There's rest for the weary, rest that endures;
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't cure

Chorus 2:

Lay down your burdens, lay down your shame.
All who are broken, lift up your face.

O wanderer, come home; you're not too far
So lay down your hurt, lay down your heart;

Come as you are.

Bridge:

Come as you are.

Fall in His arms.

Come as you are.

Verse 3:

There's joy for the morning, o sinner, be still;
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't heal.
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't heal.

Final Chorus:

Lay down your burdens, lay down your shame.
All who are broken, lift up your face.

O wanderer, come home; you're not too far
So lay down your hurt, lay down your heart;

Come as you are.

To the praise of His glorious grace,
