Sermon Outline

We enjoy many things that have a determined end date.

We enjoy many things that have an undetermined end date.

Most good things we enjoy don't last long enough.

Why can't all good things last forever?

Sin

Ezekiel 18:20 NKJV The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.

The church is the only organization we can join and enjoy that has endless benefits!

Joining is a spiritual act.

John 5:24 NKJV "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

Joining has spiritual implications.

Acts 2:41 NKJV Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.

John 11:25-26 NKJV Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"

Are you "in" or are you "out"?

There are only two groups of people… saved and lost.

1. Their allegiance is to different people, plans, and priorities.

2. They are bound for far different places.

If everyone goes to heaven, then the Bible is filled with many toothless and unnecessary warnings.

Matthew 10:28 NKJV And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Jude 1:13 NKJV raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.

2 Thessalonians 1:3-10 NKJV We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other, 4 so that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure, 5 which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer; 6 since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, 7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10 when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed.

If the Bible warnings are truthful, then a response by us is crucial!

2 Thessalonians 1:7 NKJV and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels,

2 Corinthians 2:13 NKJV I had no rest in my spirit, because I did not find Titus my brother; but taking my leave of them, I departed for Macedonia.

2 Corinthians 7:5 NKJV For indeed, when we came to Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were troubled on every side. Outside were conflicts, inside were fears.

I STILL believe in the church because its future is ENDLESS!

Are you "in" or are you "out"?
