Sermon Outline

In every way and in all areas of life, motives matter!

Growing up, who or what motivated you?

Are you viewing Judgment Day through the lens of Love or Fear?

1 John 4:12 NKJV No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.

Perfected =
put on full display, reached its intended purpose, maximum exposure

1 John 4:17 NKJV Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

Boldness (parrhesia) =
assurance (Root word = the whole)

Love is perfected when others see us reflecting on Judgment Day with BOLDNESS!

In Conclusion:

1. His love drives out judgment day fear!

Romans 8:1 NKJV There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

On Judgment Day believers will look into the face of the Judge, knowing He is the one who absorbed all their guilt, paid the penalty for their sins, and will declare them not only innocent, but also righteous!

2. His love motivates us, even while others seek to intimidate us!

Psalm 56:4 NKJV In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me? Psalm 56:11 NKJV In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? Psalm 118:6 NKJV The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?
