Sermon Outline

Ephesians 2:10 NKJV For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Our text makes it abundantly clear that we cannot be saved through our efforts. It is all because of God's amazing grace. Verses 1-9 address God's work, while verse 10 addresses ours. Note that our works take place after God saves us.

In other words, grace becomes evident in us once it is poured out on us!

So, how is grace manifested?
1. Through our Assurance.

1 Corinthians 1:4-8 NKJV I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, 5 that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, 6 even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, 7 so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2. Through our Attitude.

2 Corinthians 1:8-10 NKJV For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life. 9 Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, 10 who delivered us from so great a death, and [b]does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us,

3. Through our Actions.

Acts 11:21-23 NKJV And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord. 22 Then news of these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch. 23 When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord.

1 Corinthians 15:9-10 NKJV For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
