<< Part 1: ″Jesus' Approach″ REVIEW >>
What did Jesus do with all He had(has)?

He did nothing for His (personal) benefit. Instead, He did everything for ours!

Jesus' birth is different than everyone else's. Although we were not there physically, we were there in the mind of God. That is because Jesus Christ' miraculous birth, perfect life, sacrificial death and resurrection apply to us. We have a choice to make. We can accept Him and His offering of forgiveness and eternal life… or reject Him.

John 5:28-29 NKJV Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.

Let's consider His birth in three unique ways:
1. A Choice.

Hebrews 10:5-7 NKJV Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: ″Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me. 6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. 7 Then I said, ′Behold, I have come— In the volume of the book it is written of Me— To do Your will, O God.′ ″

Jesus Christ is the only person who ever chose to be born!

Luke 1:34-35 NKJV Then Mary said to the angel, ″How can this be, since I do not know a man?″ 35 And the angel answered and said to her, ″The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.

1 Peter 1:10-11 NKJV Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, 11 searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.

2. A Place.
  • He was born in a place.

Micah 5:2 NKJV ″But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.″

  • He resided in a place.

John 1:46 NKJV And Nathanael said to him, ″Can anything good come out of Nazareth?″ Philip said to him, ″Come and see.″

How could someone who grew up where He did and when He did make such a lasting impact on the world?

3. A Purpose.

Hebrews 10:8-10 NKJV Previously saying, ″Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them″ (which are offered according to the law), 9 then He said, ″Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.″ He takes away the first that He may establish the second. 10 By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Unlike all of us, Jesus knew all along what His purpose was!

  • Jesus was born to die.

John 1:29-30 NKJV The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, ″Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is He of whom I said, ′After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.′

  • Jesus was willing to die.

Matthew 26:53-54 NKJV Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels? 54 How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen thus?″

John 12:27-28 NKJV ″Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ′Father, save Me from this hour′? But for this purpose I came to this hour. 28 Father, glorify Your name.″ Then a voice came from heaven, saying, ″I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.″

In Conclusion:
Jesus' Purpose, determined His Choice. Our Choice, determines our Purpose.

2 Corinthians 8:9 NKJV For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.
