Martin Woody Founding / Lead Pastor

I trusted Christ as my Savior at age 16 and have been a member of a local church ever since. My Christian journey began at a local church, where I met the love of my life, Dyanne. Over our 37 years of marriage we have had the pleasure of serving Jesus together in the local church. God has blessed us with an awesome family that includes 4 grown children and 7 growing grandchildren.

After sensing a call to full time ministry, and in spite of having no formal Bible training, I accepted a call to pastor in Illinois. Knowing I needed a deeper foundation, I began working my way through Bible college. After graduating with a degree in 1993, my next step was working on staff at a large church, eventually serving as Campus Pastor for several years.

In 2008, I sensed God's leading to plant a new church. Together with my family and some friends, Hope Community Church was birthed right in the middle of a recession. Great timing… right? We began holding services in White Lake, sharing a building with another congregation. After 2 years, we moved into our current facility and have seen God work in some amazing ways.

If you attend a service, I want you to experience what no one should live without… Hope. That is because Hope is not dependent on our circumstances or even our abilities. Instead, Hope is grounded in the promises of God.

I would be honored to have you join us for a service and/or assist you on your spiritual journey.

Rachel Hoban Worship Music Director

I grew up in the church as a pastors kid and remember being saved and involved at a very young age, singing at the church we attended around the age of six. I began piano lessons around age ten and was heavily involved in any musical activities I could get into. I fell away from my relationship with Christ during my teenage years and early twenties—I had one foot in the church, one foot in the world.

After getting married in 2018 and having a daughter, I ran back to God and began to experience the true joy and hope that comes from a relationship with our Heavenly Father. He began to speak into my life and show me the plans he had for my family and I. His love and the truths I read in His word overwhelmed me and I began serving again as a member of the worship team.

I now have the privilege of leading our congregation as we worship Jesus together through song. My desire is that worship at HopeCC is a meaningful time to connect with Christ by lifting our voices and hearts up to him. He is so worthy of our praise! ″Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!″ —Psalm 150:6 ESV

Justin Ball Worship Tech Director

I grew up in a christian home and was saved at a young age. God called my wife and I to Hope Community in 2010 and we have faithfully attended and served at Hope in various capacities ever since. As the Tech Team Ministry leader, I strive to create an environment that is welcoming to those who desire to worship and serve at Hope Community Church.

It is my priviledge to help present the Gospel not only live in person, but also through social media and other various platforms. My desire is to serve the Lord using my various God given gifts and talents and to be a mentor to those who wish to do the same. 1 Peter 4:10 says, ″As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.″
