Martin Woody Founding / Lead Pastor
I trusted Christ as my Savior at age 16 and have been a member of a local church ever since. My Christian journey began at a local church, where I met the love of my life, Dyanne. Over our 37 years of marriage we have had the pleasure of serving Jesus together in the local church. God has blessed us with an awesome family that includes 4 grown children and 7 growing grandchildren.
After sensing a call to full time ministry, and in spite of having no formal Bible training, I accepted a call to pastor in Illinois. Knowing I needed a deeper foundation, I began working my way through Bible college. After graduating with a degree in 1993, my next step was working on staff at a large church, eventually serving as Campus Pastor for several years.
In 2008, I sensed God's leading to plant a new church. Together with my family and some friends, Hope Community Church was birthed right in the middle of a recession. Great timing… right? We began holding services in White Lake, sharing a building with another congregation. After 2 years, we moved into our current facility and have seen God work in some amazing ways.
If you attend a service, I want you to experience what no one should live without… Hope. That is because Hope is not dependent on our circumstances or even our abilities. Instead, Hope is grounded in the promises of God.
I would be honored to have you join us for a service and/or assist you on your spiritual journey.

I desire for our time of worship together as a congregation to be saturated with Spirit-inspired words. I believe that is, for me, an act of obedience to Paul's words to the Colossians "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." And the very next verse indicates that there begins a cascade of worship flowing out of each of us throughout our daily lives. Let's worship the only God worthy of all glory, honor, and praise together!
